2011 Grant Awards
The following organizations received environmental grant awards:Manchester Area Conference of Churches, Inc. (MACC), was awarded $980 to fund the purchase of a shed, tools, seed and other supplies to support their organic garden. The produce from their garden is donated to MACC Community Pantry which serves over 1,000 low income households.
Groundwork Bridgeport was awarded $950 to fund a series of 2-hr summer classes at the Bridgeport Library system for K-3 students. The classes are to be taught by city high school environmental club students, and aim to introduce basic science and environmental concepts.
