2022 Grant Awards

The following organizations were selected for environmental grant awards, from a pool of 37 applicants:

Durham-Middlefield Giving Garden was awarded $600 to purchase a drip irrigation system to reach 13 garden rows, 8 raised beds, and an 80’ long “pollinator patch” of perennial flowers. Produce from the gardens is donated to local senior centers and soup kitchens.

Green Village Initiative, Inc. of Bridgeport, CT was awarded $1050 to purchase supplies and services to enhance nutrients at their farm and community gardens.

The Mianus Chapter of Trout Unlimited was awarded $2000 to fund a riparian buffer tree planting project along the Comstock Brook, an important Norwalk River tributary. Tree planting project to be undertaken in partnership with students in the Wilton Public Schools’ Genesis Program.

The Last Green Valley, Inc. (TLGV) was awarded $2,000 to be used towards stipends for non-profit project partners who will deliver environmental education programs for TLGV’s innovative, high quality traveling summer day camp experience for approximately 120 middle school youth.
