From Rags to Riches: DEEP Discusses the Nuances of the New Rag Rule and More Hazardous Waste Developments

Please come to a brown bag lunch presentation regarding CTDEEP’s new regulation adopting EPA’s 2013 Solvent-Contaminated Wipes Rule (passed September 1^st).  Ross Bunnell (CTDEEP) will discuss the new rule, DEEP’s implementation process and practical implications for stakeholders.  This rule provides an exemption from hazardous waste requirements for certain qualifying wipes.  Mr. Bunnell will also discuss the DEEP Hazardous Waste and Connecticut-Regulated Waste Compendium. This is a new document available on the DEEP website that provides access to over two hundred interpretive letters relating to the management of hazardous and Connecticut-Regulated Waste in Connecticut.  He will provide a status on the recent Public Act that requires CT DEEP to undertake efforts to adopt the EPA's Hazardous Waste Generator Improvements Rule by July 1, 2018, or if it does not, to report to the legislature on its efforts in adopting the rule.
